The Acting Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, stated that the Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina is investigating allegations of postal vote manipulation involving the diaspora.
“As you know, the Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina is already conducting investigations. Based on the information we have, which has been made public, the Prosecution has also requested relevant documentation from the Central Election Commission (CEC) regarding the diaspora voting process. Since the matter is now in the hands of the prosecution, it is important that any further questions be addressed to them,” Haxhiu said, according to Reporteri.net.
Haxhiu emphasized that anyone involved in this crime must be held both criminally and politically accountable.
“I believe that everyone involved in the manipulation of diaspora votes must face both criminal and political responsibility. As for specific names, that is naturally the responsibility of the justice institutions,” Haxhiu added.
When asked by journalists if standards had been lowered by inviting the leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, to a meeting, Haxhiu responded:
“As for whether someone has been more vocal or the opposite, I don’t know how you’re measuring which VV member is louder. Our positions are the positions of the political entity, and it is the political entity that decides who addresses these issues. In this regard, we have not backed down from any public or political stance we have taken against other political parties. I am not talking about insults or offenses here, but about public and political positions we have maintained,” she concluded.
