Iran’s Commander-in-Chief of the Army, Amir Hatami, has warned of a “strong counter-response” to the United States’ attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. His remarks were made in a video clip released by numerous state-affiliated media outlets.

“Throughout our history, we have faced America many times. Whenever they have tried to come for us, they have received a strong response,” Major General Amir Hatami stated, as reported by CNN.

He continued, “We will fight; we will fight for happiness. We have had many martyrs, but we will fight with strength and courage. You should be confident in our strength.”

Hatami, one of Iran’s highest-ranking generals, was appointed to his role less than a week ago. His appointment came as Iran reorganized its military leadership to fill positions left vacant after Israel killed several senior figures in its recent attacks.
