More than 100 drones have been launched by Iran toward Israeli territory in the past hours, according to Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin, Rks News reports.
According to Defrin, the Iranian operation is a direct retaliation to the recent Israeli strike in Tehran and represents one of the largest drone air assaults Israel has ever faced.
“We are working intensively to intercept these drones before they enter our airspace,” stated General Defrin, adding that due to the distance and technical characteristics, the drones are expected to take several hours to reach Israeli territory.
