Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has called on Arab Gulf countries to distance themselves from the United States and Israel, declaring that “the era of American dominance has ended.”
In a message published on the social platform X, Khamenei urged Iran’s southern neighbors to “closely observe” developments and to “stand on the right side,” warning them not to trust what he described as “false promises” from the United States and Israel, according to CNN.
According to analyst Hasan Alhasan from the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Iran views itself in a stronger position following the ceasefire, claiming it withstood attacks and forced the United States to accept a halt in fighting.
However, Gulf states remain skeptical. They have been targets of missile and drone attacks during the conflict and are not expected to accept Iran’s influence or “leadership” in the region, despite recent developments.
