Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, reacted harshly following Israel’s airstrikes on Iranian territory, calling them a “crime committed at dawn” and warning that Israel will face severe consequences, Rks News reports.
In a statement published by Iran’s state news agency IRNA and quoted by CNN, Khamenei confirmed that several senior military commanders and nuclear scientists were killed in the strikes, which Israel claims targeted nuclear facilities.
“The Zionist regime has committed a crime at dawn. This regime must expect harsh punishment,” said Khamenei, adding that the victims would be immediately replaced and their mission would continue without interruption.
He accused Israel of escalating the situation and warned that such actions have opened the door to serious repercussions.
“With this attack, the Zionist regime has prepared a bitter and painful fate for itself – and it will surely face it,” the supreme leader declared.
