Tehran – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged Muslim countries to sever diplomatic relations with Israel.
Pezeshkian made the statement ahead of a summit planned in Doha, convened in response to last week’s Israeli strike targeting officials of the Palestinian movement Hamas in Qatar’s capital.
“It is possible for Muslim countries to break ties with this fictitious [Israeli] regime and to preserve their unity and cohesion as much as possible,” Pezeshkian said prior to his departure to Qatar.
The Iranian president expressed hope that the summit will result in decisions on concrete measures to be taken against Israel.
