Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of being the “primary instigator” behind the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran, following U.S. attacks on three Iranian nuclear facilities.

Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian stated:

“The U.S. is the main driver behind the Israeli strikes. They tried to conceal their involvement at first, but ultimately, they were forced to intervene directly,” he told BBC.

The Iranian president emphasized that Iran’s missile strikes on Israel earlier today were a “response” to the U.S. airstrikes, claiming:

“Israel neither has the capacity nor the courage to act alone against Iran.”

The comments further escalate already intense regional tensions, as both Tehran and Washington trade accusations while violence escalates between Iran and Israel.
