Iran’s state television has announced that a ceasefire between Iran and Israel is now in effect.

Earlier today, Iran’s Foreign Minister had declared that Iranian armed forces would “continue to fight until the last minute.” However, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump stated that a ceasefire had been reached and that the war was over, Iran fired rockets into Israel, resulting in the deaths of three people.

President Trump credited the B-2 bomber pilots for making the ceasefire possible, stating that their mission two days ago targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities “brought all sides together” and led to the agreement.

“A FULL and TOTAL CEASEFIRE has been agreed between Israel and Iran (effective approximately 6 hours from now, once both sides complete their ongoing missions!). The war will then be officially OVER,” Trump wrote on social media.

According to Trump, Iran will be the first to observe the ceasefire. After 12 hours, Israel will also begin complying with the ceasefire for an additional 12 hours.

“During each CEASEFIRE period, the other party shall remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. Assuming all goes well — and it will — I want to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for having the Strength, Courage, and Intelligence to end what should be called the ‘12-DAY WAR’,” Trump wrote.

He emphasized that this could have been a long-lasting, devastating conflict for the entire Middle East, but it was prevented.

“God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and God bless the WORLD!”
