Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian declared that Iran will overcome renewed UN sanctions, following a Security Council vote against permanently lifting restrictions.

“Sanctions may block the road, but intellect and determination will reopen it,” Pezeshkian said on state television. He added that external powers cannot stop Iran’s progress, even if they target nuclear sites like Natanz or Fordow.

The sanctions decision came after a 30-day review by Britain, France, and Germany, citing Iran’s alleged non-compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal. European leaders had demanded restored UN inspections, accountability for uranium stockpiles, and renewed U.S.-Iran negotiations.

Iran denies any nuclear weapons ambitions. The Security Council’s ruling leaves room for a six-month suspension if Tehran meets international monitoring and negotiation requirements.
