The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has pledged revenge for the killing of its intelligence chief, Majid Khademi, who was reportedly killed in U.S.-Israeli airstrikes earlier today.
“The desperate and ruthless enemy must know that a massive response awaits the organizers and perpetrators of this crime,” the IRGC stated on its official news platform, Sepah News.
Khademi led both the Intelligence Protection Organization and the IRGC Intelligence Organization, succeeding Mohammad Kazemi in 2025 following Kazemi’s death during the 12-day Iran-Israel conflict.
The Israeli military confirmed that Khademi, one of the top three officials in the IRGC, was killed alongside another senior Guard officer during the nighttime strikes.
“Khademi was among the highest-ranking IRGC commanders and possessed extensive operational experience developed over many years,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a post on X.
Israel also reported the killing of Yazdan Mir, known as Sardar Bagheri, who commanded the secret Unit 840 of the Quds Force. Both were among at least 25 individuals reportedly killed in the strikes across Iran, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to turn the country into “hell” if it did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC confirmed Khademi’s death, describing him as a “strong and educated leader” of their Intelligence Organization who was “killed in a criminal terrorist attack by the U.S.-Israeli enemy.”
