Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani, has strongly criticized the draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council regarding the Strait of Hormuz, calling it “factually, legally, and politically wrong.”

Iravani described the proposal as one-sided and unacceptable, rejecting the accusations directed at Iran. He argued that Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz are carried out in self-defense.

However, several regional states continue to view Tehran’s actions as violations of international law and the principle of freedom of maritime navigation, further deepening tensions in the strategically vital Gulf region.
