The Israeli military has confirmed that it carried out an airstrike on the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near the coastal city of Sidon in Lebanon. In its statement, the army claimed it targeted a Hamas training facility.

This marks a rare instance of Israel striking Hamas positions inside Lebanese territory. In July, a senior Hamas commander was killed in an attack in Tripoli, while another commander was killed in Sidon in May.

Israel continues its systematic strikes in southern Lebanon and other areas, asserting that it is targeting Hezbollah. However, these actions violate the ceasefire agreement reached last year.

On Tuesday, a Lebanese municipal worker was killed in another strike in southern Lebanon. According to Al-Manar, the attack was carried out by a drone targeting a Rapid-type vehicle in the town of Bint Jbeil. Meanwhile, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health confirmed that one person was killed in the Bint Jbeil attack.
