Yemeni officials have reported that an Israeli airstrike hit Sana’a International Airport, destroying the last passenger aircraft operated by Yemenia Airways Yemen’s national airline. This plane was the only remaining means for international flights and humanitarian missions, reports Rks News.

The aircraft, an Airbus A320, represented Yemen’s last link to international aid, medical transport, and essential civilian travel. Its destruction is considered a devastating blow to a country already ravaged by war, blockades, and extreme poverty.

Footage released after the strike shows passengers fleeing in panic moments before the plane was hit. Local sources stated that Israel had issued a brief warning for evacuation prior to the attack.

The incident has sparked strong reactions from Yemeni authorities and international humanitarian organizations, who emphasized that the destruction of civilian transport assets worsens the humanitarian crisis in Yemen already one of the most severe in the world.

Following the strike, videos shared online show the charred remains of the aircraft and extensive damage to the airport runway. As the international community remains divided over the regional conflict, the loss of this aircraft marks yet another dramatic turning point for the Yemeni people.
