Israel will halt the electricity supply to the Gaza Strip, announced Energy Minister Eli Cohen today, one week after cutting off humanitarian aid to the Palestinian territory in an effort to exert pressure on Hamas.
“I am signing the order for the immediate cessation of the electricity supply to the Gaza Strip,” he said.
“We will use all available means to return all hostages,” he added, while Israel and the Palestinian Islamic movement accuse each other of violating the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on January 19.
