The Israeli military is prepared to resume airstrikes on targets in the Iranian capital, Tehran, announced the Chief of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Saturday.
“The IDF is operating according to its operational plans, and IAF (Israeli Air Force) fighter jets are ready to resume attacks on targets in Tehran,” said IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar, as reported by the BBC.
Both Israel and Iran exchanged fire overnight. According to reports, an Israeli strike on a residential building in Tehran has left at least 60 people dead, including 20 children—one of them a six-month-old infant.
The situation marks a grave escalation in the ongoing conflict, drawing alarm from the international community and fueling fears of a broader regional war.
