The situation in Lebanon has escalated as the Israel Defense Forces issued a new evacuation warning to residents in southern Beirut, signaling that military operations are expected to take place in the coming hours.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced that the IDF plans to operate in several areas of the Lebanese capital, including Haret Hreik and Burj al-Barajneh, as well as in a complex located south of the Damascus Highway.

Residents in these neighborhoods were urged to leave immediately and move east along the highway for their safety.

Hezbollah targeted

According to the Israeli military, the operations are targeting Hezbollah, a group backed by Iran.

The IDF warned that anyone located near Hezbollah operatives, facilities, or weapons “is putting their life at risk.”

Strikes reported overnight

Earlier in the night, Israel had already issued warnings about potential strikes in Dahieh, the southern suburb of Beirut known as a stronghold of Hezbollah.

Verified footage from the area shows damage from airstrikes in western Beirut, including in the Tallet el Khayat district, where several floors of a high-rise building were reportedly engulfed in flames after the attack.

The latest escalation raises concerns that the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah could expand further into Lebanon’s capital, increasing the risk of broader regional instability.
