Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has announced that he has instructed the Israeli military to “respond with force to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire, through intensive strikes on regime targets in the heart of Tehran,” according to The Times of Israel.

This follows the launch of two ballistic missiles from Iran toward Israel after the time when a ceasefire—announced by U.S. President Donald Trump—was supposed to take effect. Both missiles were intercepted.

The Israeli military confirmed it had detected the missile launches and said air defense systems were “actively operating to neutralize the threat.” Citizens were advised to seek shelter and remain there until further notice.

Later, the Israeli army stated that residents in northern Israel were cleared to leave shelters.

The emergency service Magen David Adom reported that no casualties had been recorded, except for one man who was injured while rushing to a shelter.
