Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and two other ministers from the far-right Otzma Yehudit party have resigned from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition over the Gaza ceasefire agreement. While Otzma Yehudit has exited the coalition, it stated it would not seek to topple Netanyahu’s government.

Reports indicate that mediators informed Israel they received a list of hostages Hamas plans to release as part of the ceasefire. However, the list has yet to be handed over to Israeli authorities. Hamas claimed technical issues on the ground caused the delay but promised to proceed with the exchange as planned.

Despite the ceasefire’s initial timing of 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Israel continued its military strikes in Gaza, citing Hamas’ failure to meet the agreed terms. Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated that operations would persist until Hamas fulfills its commitments.

The ceasefire, brokered by Qatar with U.S. and Egyptian support, aims to halt the 15-month conflict and facilitate a prisoner exchange. However, delays and escalations on both sides underscore the fragility of the agreement, with concerns about its long-term viability.
