Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has confirmed that Istanbul continues to be the venue for peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.
Zakharova stated that the date for the next round of talks will be decided by the heads of the delegations, and she thanked Turkey for its role in facilitating this process.
Following two rounds of negotiations held in Istanbul in May and June, Russia and Ukraine agreed on a “thousand-for-thousand” prisoner exchange formula, which includes the return of critically ill soldiers and those under 25 years old.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added that once the prisoner exchange procedures are finalized, the timing for the third round of negotiations will be determined.
