Marko Roshiq, one of the four convicted for the murder of the northern Serbian politician Oliver Ivanovic, is reported to have fled from justice. Found guilty and sentenced by the first instance of the Basic Court in Pristina, Roshiq had been released from pre-trial detention and was being defended at liberty. However, after the announcement of the guilty verdict against him and three others on Friday, June 28, Roshiq is reported to have fled from justice, according to Paparaci. He was not found at his home in North Mitrovica by Kosovo police officials.
The Basic Court in Pristina announced the verdict on June 28 for the case of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, sentencing four individuals to a total of 22 years and six months in prison, while releasing another. Nedelko Spasojevic, Marko Roshiq, Dragisha Markoviq, and Zharko Jovanoviq were sentenced to a total of 22 years and six months in prison, while Sillvana Arsoviq was acquitted of the charges. Marko Roshiq was sentenced to ten years in prison for the criminal offense of participating in an organized criminal group that organized a murder, and fined 10,000 euros.
In 2020, the Special Prosecutor’s Office filed the third amended indictment, after the first was filed in November 2019, and the second amended indictment was filed in December of the same year.
