On February 14, 2025, the Italian and Czech contingents of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) conducted regular training exercises in Kosovo, including live-fire drills, aimed at maintaining their high operational readiness. These exercises are a crucial part of KFOR’s daily efforts to support all communities within Kosovo.
KFOR continues to fulfill its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which dates back to 1999. The force aims to create a safe and secure environment for all individuals and communities living in Kosovo, ensuring freedom of movement at all times in an impartial manner. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), with each organization fulfilling its respective security roles.
The exercise highlights KFOR’s ongoing commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo, strengthening its presence as a peacekeeping force while reinforcing its relationships with local authorities.
