An Italian team specializing in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) operations, part of the Regional Command West Support Battalion under NATO-led KFOR, recently conducted an inspection at the Eurosteel waste disposal facility in Peja.
This routine activity supports Kosovo’s Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning by monitoring industrial sites and aiding local authorities in reducing chemical and radiological risks.
“These activities are always conducted in collaboration with CBRN teams from other KFOR contingents and with the support of the Kosovo Police,” the statement read.
The initiative highlights KFOR’s ongoing commitment to environmental safety and cooperation with local authorities in Kosovo.
