Italian soldiers from the Regional Command West (RC-W), part of the NATO-led KFOR mission, have recently conducted patrols and surveillance operations in their area of responsibility in southern Kosovo.
The primary aim of these patrols is to support security and guarantee freedom of movement for all citizens in the region.
Through these activities, KFOR soldiers also engage with local communities and civil authorities, reinforcing trust in the mission’s impartial presence.
The mission of KFOR remains steadfast and aligned with the mandate given by UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all citizens and communities in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement at all times and without bias.
KFOR continues close cooperation with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX), each playing their respective roles in maintaining security on the ground.
