Italian soldiers from the KFOR Western Regional Command, in close coordination with the U.S. Task Force Aviation, carried out a MEDEVAC (medical evacuation) training exercise at Camp Villaggio Italia, Peja.
Supported by a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, the exercise simulated real-life casualty evacuations. Troops practiced boarding and disembarking patients during helicopter operations.
According to KFOR, such exercises enhance interoperability and cohesion among KFOR units and increase operational readiness for real-world emergencies.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999)—to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities in Kosovo, ensuring freedom of movement at all times and in an impartial manner. KFOR works closely with the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in their respective security roles,” the statement said.
