During the ongoing conference for Ukraine’s reconstruction in Rome, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni directly accused Russia of “increasing attacks” against civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
Meloni emphasized that the high participation in the event—with more than 70 national representations and thousands of companies and civil society representatives—”shows… what kind of future we all together desire for Ukraine, and how convinced we are that we will achieve it.”
“We want to look beyond the unbearable injustice inflicted on the Ukrainian people for more than three years. And now we must imagine a reconstructed, free, and prosperous Ukraine,” she stated. The Prime Minister added, “Our duty is to help Ukraine. And we will do so, to write a new chapter in its history.”
She also announced that conference participants would sign new contracts for financing Ukraine’s recovery, with fresh agreements involving Italian companies such as the energy firm Enel and the aerospace and defense industry giant Leonardo.
