A medal-awarding ceremony was held at Camp Villaggio Italia in Peja, honoring members of the Italian contingent of NATO-led KFOR for their service in Kosovo. The event was led by Colonel Francesco Errico, Commander of the Regional Command West (RC-W), who presented the NATO Medal to the troops for their professionalism and dedication in promoting peace and stability.
Colonel Errico expressed his deep appreciation to the decorated personnel, highlighting their significant contribution to fulfilling KFOR’s mission.
“KFOR continues to carry out its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999) – to help ensure a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, and to support freedom of movement at all times, impartially,” the mission stated.
KFOR also emphasized that it works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), each fulfilling their respective roles in maintaining security.
