Federal District Judge Aileen Cannon has dismissed the classified documents case against Donald Trump, CNN reports. In a ruling Monday, Cannon said the appointment of special prosecutor Jack Smith violates the Constitution.
Richard Grenell, the US emissary for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue during the Trump administration, reacted to this.
He has said that the case of Jack Smith against Trump is falling apart, adding that it is the turn for the case of Hashim Thaçi, the former president of Kosovo who has been detained by the Special Court since 2020, to fall apart.
The indictments against the former leaders of the KLA were brought by Jack Smith as chief prosecutor of the Special Court in 2020, to resign later in 2022 precisely to take on the case of Donald Trump, in which cases Grenell makes the connection.
“Jack Smith’s case against Trump is falling apart. It’s your turn, Hashim Thaçi”, wrote Grenell in “X”.
Grenell, as one of Trump’s closest political associates, has repeatedly attacked Jack Smith.
