Commemorating the 6th Anniversary of His Sacrifice

The Kosovo Police marked the sixth anniversary of the passing of police officer Izet Demaj, who lost his life while attempting to stop a bank robbery in Istog.

During a memorial ceremony held at his commemorative plaque, participants paid tribute to his heroic actions by laying flowers and observing a moment of silence.

A Heroic Act that Symbolizes Sacrifice

“Izet Demaj gave his life to protect the safety and freedom of the citizens of Kosovo,” the Kosovo Police stated in a Facebook post. “This anniversary serves as a reminder of his unparalleled sacrifice and dedication in serving his country and community.”

The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Istog, Ilir Ferati, the Director of the Regional Police Directorate in Peja, Colonel Shaban Shala, Demaj’s comrades, family members, and hundreds of citizens moved by his legacy.

A Life Lost for a Greater Cause

Demaj tragically passed away in December 2018 after being shot by a robber during his efforts to stop a crime. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, leaving behind a powerful legacy of courage and dedication.

The Kosovo Police expressed their deepest gratitude to all who attended the memorial ceremony, highlighting Demaj’s deeds as an enduring example of bravery and commitment.
