Former President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, has expressed confidence that the country’s former UÇK leaders will successfully face their latest challenge at the Hague-based Special Court.

Through a post on Facebook, Jahjaga emphasized that Kosovo will overcome any attempts to tarnish its image, the reputation of its leaders, or the heroic liberation struggle of the UÇK.

“The Republic of Kosovo exists thanks to the tireless contributions of its citizens and in alliance with our Western partners. A duty of this alliance is to protect and preserve our just struggle, as well as our right to be a sovereign state,” Jahjaga wrote.

She noted that Kosovo’s leaders have faced even more difficult challenges than others in the region, and have never shied away from confronting international justice, guided by their belief in the fairness of their fight for the country’s freedom.

“This is the final challenge, and I am convinced that we will prevail against any attempt to tarnish Kosovo as a country, its leaders as individuals, or our just and heroic fight,” she added.

Jahjaga’s statement underscores the continued support for Kosovo’s former UÇK leaders and reaffirms the country’s commitment to justice, sovereignty, and historical truth.
