The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, met today with Lieutenant General Peter K. Scott, Deputy Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples (DCOM JFCNP). General Jashari briefed General Scott on the overall security situation in the region and the Republic of Kosovo.
Subsequently, General Jashari informed General Scott about the achievements of the KSF in line with the Comprehensive Transition Plan (CTP). He also updated him on the development of the KSF’s operational capabilities in various combat functional areas, aiming to reach full operational capacity in order to fulfill the KSF’s mission.
General Jashari also highlighted the KSF’s contribution to international peace and security, including the deployment of KSF forces abroad. The meeting also covered the KSF’s support to Ukraine, in line with NATO’s objectives and those of its member states. Specifically, General Jashari informed General Scott about the KSF’s contribution to training Ukrainian troops, the combat duties in the “INTERFLEX” operation, and the training of Ukrainian contingents in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). General Jashari expressed the KSF’s readiness to further enhance cooperation with KFOR.
“General Scott congratulated General Jashari for his efforts and commitment to the development and professional advancement of the KSF. He also thanked General Jashari for the cooperation and constructive approach towards maintaining peace and security in the Republic of Kosovo. At the end of the meeting, both generals agreed to further increase cooperation in the future,” the KSF announcement stated.
