Jashari Meets NATO Deputy Commander in Naples: Discusses Kosovo Security

The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, hosted NATO’s Joint Force Command Naples Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General Peter K. Scott, to discuss the security situation in Kosovo and the broader region.

Discussions on Security and Progress

During the meeting, General Jashari briefed General Scott on the overall security conditions in Kosovo and the region. He also highlighted the achievements of the KSF under the Comprehensive Transition Plan (CTP), emphasizing progress in building operational combat capacities aligned with NATO standards.

Additionally, General Jashari detailed the KSF’s contributions to international peacekeeping, including deployments abroad, and discussed Kosovo’s support for Ukraine. Specifically, the KSF has been involved in training Ukrainian troops under operations like “INTERFLEX” and supporting explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) training.

Strengthening NATO Cooperation

Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the KSF and NATO’s KFOR mission in Kosovo. General Scott commended the KSF’s advancements and its role in maintaining peace and security within Kosovo and internationally.

Commitment to Future Cooperation

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to enhance cooperation further, strengthening the partnership between the KSF and NATO operations in the region.
