Professor and expert on foreign policy and Balkan affairs, Edward Joseph, has stated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti may face the same pressures as those directed at Ukrainian President Zelensky by Donald Trump, but he is in an even more unfavorable position than Zelensky.
According to Joseph, Prime Minister Kurti does not have full support from the EU or the United Kingdom, as he has continuously faced criticism.
“If Prime Minister Kurti returns as prime minister, then he, and everyone in Kosovo, should expect very high pressure from the Trump administration. Prime Minister Kurti may face the same treatment that Trump reserved for Zelensky. And Prime Minister Kurti is not in the same position as Zelensky,” he said.
Joseph further emphasized that Kurti has also faced criticism from the previous U.S. administration.
“The Ukrainian president has strong European support, he has strong support from the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Kurti does not have that support. For Prime Minister Kurti, there is opposition and criticism from the European Union and the United Kingdom. We must also understand that Prime Minister Kurti faced criticism from the previous U.S. administration, the one under Biden.
So this is not something that only concerns Donald Trump. This is about the frustration in all these Western countries with Prime Minister Kurti’s leadership, aside from the issues they have with Serbia,” he pointed out in an interview with A2CNN.
