Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is taking part in the joint tactical exercise with the Serbian Army’s shooting units “Vihor 2024”.
The exercise involves both land and air components of the Serbian army and special forces, and according to the number and variety of military forces engaged, it is one of the largest and most comprehensive conducted by the Serbian Armed Forces.
These exercises are being held in Peshter, in the Sanjak area, just 30 kilometers from the Kosovo border and a few kilometers from the border with Montenegro.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has commented on this exercise today. He said that this is an open provocation by Serbia against Kosovo. Kamikaze drones, known as Serbian drones, will also be released in this exercise.
“I commend our army, all members of our army for the successfully conducted exercise. We must abandon the principle of four brigades and that’s how it should look in the future. What we can see new today are many equipment, even tanks from the reserves, so modernized tanks should look like to us. You have seen many types of drones, from scouts, kamikaze drones, mosquitoes, and drones. Now we are moving into a more powerful production of this type of drone. I am pleased that private company drones have done a good job. We are on our way to create a drone industry, you can see all types of aircraft in flights and shooting. I am satisfied with the readiness of our army. We need to do a lot, repair, buy, rely sufficiently on our dedicated industry. Once again, I want to congratulate you. This is almost all new compared to the past 10 years and it shows how much Serbia has progressed and how successful it is, how much it has invested in the military,” Vučić said today.
The President of the Republic of Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, and the speaker of the Montenegrin parliament, Andrija Mandić, are also participating in this exercise.
