Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, is set to arrive in Prishtina today, May 22, 2025, as part of her regional tour, which began yesterday in Belgrade.
The European Union has published her official agenda, revealing that Kallas will meet exclusively with political party leaders and civil society organizations. Notably, no meetings with institutional officials from Kosovo are listed.
“In Kosovo, High Representative Kallas will meet with representatives of political parties and civil society organizations,” states the EU press release.
She will hold a press conference at the Europe House in Prishtina at 15:45, which will be broadcast live on EBS.
As part of her visit, Kallas is also expected to visit the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and meet with the KFOR Commander, Enrico Barduani.
This visit comes shortly after President Vjosa Osmani met with Kallas in Tirana during the European Political Community Summit. At the time, President Osmani announced that she would not be present to meet Kallas in Prishtina due to an official visit to Switzerland.
Kallas’ itinerary, excluding top institutional meetings in Kosovo, has raised eyebrows among observers, especially amid ongoing EU-Kosovo diplomatic engagements.
