The resignations of Serb judges and prosecutors from northern Kosovo submitted in November 2022 were a key topic during a meeting between the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, and members of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC).
Although nearly two years have passed since the mass resignations, they have yet to be formalized.
Speaking to Info Magazine on Klan Kosova, the head of the KJC, Albert Zogaj, described Kallas’ visit as an important opportunity to present the institution’s approach to this sensitive issue.
“We consider the visit extremely important. She had the opportunity to be directly informed about the dynamics and the way we have handled the resignations of judges and prosecutors from the Serbian community. We believe we’ve taken the most constructive and serious approach possible and are investigating the matter with the necessary care. This was a great opportunity for us to show how this issue is being managed within the framework of the Kosovo Judicial Council,” Zogaj stated.
