The Albanian deputy in the Serbian Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, posted a video showing the opposition using tear gas and eggs in an attempt to block the plenary session.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament, Ana Brnabić, insists on continuing the session despite the hall being filled with tear gas.
An incident occurred today in the Serbian Parliament when opposition deputies stood up from their seats and activated fireworks in the hall.
This happened after the deputies of the ruling coalition approved the agenda, which was opposed by the opposition.
The opposition deputies approached the Speaker’s desk, activated red and black smoke bombs, and unfurled a banner reading “Serbia is rising to overthrow the regime.”
The government had previously approved the agenda with 62 points, including amendments to the Higher Education Law.
These amendments are a demand from the students protesting in Serbia, which began after the deadly collapse of a shelter at the Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1st of last year.
