Shaip Kamberi, an Albanian member of the Serbian Parliament and leader of the Party for Democratic Action (PVD), is currently visiting the United States to raise awareness about the difficult situation of Albanians in the Presheva Valley and to denounce human rights violations against them.
During his visit, Kamberi is scheduled to meet with key U.S. lawmakers and officials, including:
- Congressman Keith Self, Chair of the Subcommittee on Europe in the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee
- Senator Cory Booker, member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee
- Congressman George Latimer, member of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission
- Former Congressman Joe DioGuardi and members of the Albanian American Civic League Board
The delegation will also engage with the Albanian-American community in Dallas and New York to strengthen cooperation and amplify the voice of Presevo Valley Albanians on the international stage.
Kamberi emphasized that this visit comes just four months after a successful visit to Berlin, where the delegation met with officials in the Bundestag and the German Foreign Ministry, continuing efforts to keep the Presevo Valley issue on the international agenda.
In his statement, Kamberi thanked the Government of Kosovo for its ongoing support, as well as organizations like the Albanian American Civic League, the National Albanian American Council (KKSH), and WIAI, noting their direct contribution to ensuring that the voice of Presevo Valley Albanians is strongly heard in the U.S.
