Shaip Kamberi, the only Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament, has submitted an initiative for the municipality of Presheva to be issued with its own vehicle registration plates, arguing that Presheva, like all other municipalities, deserves to be identified by its own name.

In a Facebook post, Kamberi noted that Presheva currently has 12,387 registered vehicles. The municipality itself has 33,449 resident inhabitants and a total of 59,024 inhabitants when including non-resident citizens.

“With this population size and number of registered vehicles, it is entirely reasonable and necessary for Presheva to have its own registration plates, and not those of Vranje. Presheva deserves equal treatment, and its symbols—including license plates—should be present just like in any other municipality of Serbia,” Kamberi wrote.
