Shaip Kamberi, the Albanian member of the Serbian Parliament, stated that the liberation of Kosovo 26 years ago was also the salvation of its people.
In a Facebook post, he emphasized that the Liberation Day of Kosovo marked the end of the killing of innocent children, the massacres of the elderly and women, colonization, and the suffering caused by the chauvinistic regime of Slobodan Milošević against Albanians.
“26 years later, after countless sacrifices and the determination of Albanians to fight as a nation, along with NATO’s support, Kosovo is now a free, independent, and sovereign state. At that time, the Presheva Valley stood alongside Kosovo, shoulder to shoulder,” he wrote.
“On this day of Kosovo’s liberation, we commemorate all the martyrs who fell for freedom, and all the activists of the Albanian cause who are no longer among us,” Kamberi added.
