KEK Update
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) announced that Unit A5 has been taken out of operation due to a leak detected in the pipeline system.
However, KEK confirmed that electricity generation continues with four other units: A3, A4, B1, and B2.
“KEK J.S.C. informs the public that Unit A5 was shut down at around 20:25 due to a leak detected in the screens (pipeline system) at an elevation of 10–15 meters. Currently, KEK continues operations according to plan and the Electricity Balance, with four (4) generating units in operation: A3, A4, B1, and B2,” the statement said.
According to KEK, Unit A5 was shut down to prevent a larger-scale malfunction and to allow necessary repairs to be carried out.
