The Kosovo Electricity Distribution Services (KEDS) has announced planned electricity outages that will take place today due to necessary maintenance, safety works, investment projects, and third-party interventions. According to KEDS, a large number of municipalities across Kosovo will be affected.
The outages are scheduled at different times depending on the region and include parts of Prishtina, Drenas, Peja, Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjakova, Gjilan, and Mitrovica, as well as numerous surrounding villages and neighborhoods.
Reasons for the outages include:
- System safety works (SCADA testing, preventive maintenance, cable and isolator replacement)
- Investment projects (transformer replacement, network upgrades from 10kV to 20kV, installation of new poles and equipment)
- Third-party works approved under electro-energy permits
KEDS has urged citizens to plan ahead and thanked them for their understanding while these essential works are carried out to improve system reliability and safety.
