The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced that at midnight, it will temporarily suspend the operation of Unit B1 due to the need for intervention in the electrofilter and other necessary repairs.
“After more than 50 days of uninterrupted operation, it has become necessary to carry out work on the electrofilter and several other essential repairs. For these technical, technological, and environmental reasons, Unit B1 will be taken offline on August 14, 2025, at around 23:59. The shutdown is planned to protect equipment and technology from potential damage and to avoid a more serious malfunction that could impact both operations and the environment,” KEK stated.
The corporation emphasized that its technical and professional teams are on full alert. Once the necessary conditions are met, they will immediately begin identifying and repairing the defects so that the unit can return to operation as soon as possible, with improved environmental performance.
“KEK remains committed to providing a stable and safe supply while contributing positively to environmental protection for all citizens,” the statement concluded.
