The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has awarded a €138,000 tender through a negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice, citing “weekend urgency.” The estimated value for this contract was €129,000, meaning the awarded amount exceeded the projected sum by €9,000.

The tender, awarded yesterday, is for the supply of sodium hydroxide for the needs of the “Kosova A” and “Kosova B” Thermal Power Plants. This compound is crucial for regulating water pH, preventing corrosion in equipment, and cleaning mineral deposits from the system.

According to the contract award notice, the agreement will be signed immediately due to insufficient reserves of the chemical for the upcoming weekend.
