KEK Restores A3 Unit, Operating with Five Generation Units to Ensure System Stability

The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced the successful return to operation of Unit A3, restoring the company’s capacity to five active generation units and reinforcing the stability of the country’s electricity system.

In an official statement, KEK confirmed that Unit A3 has successfully completed all technical repairs and preventive interventions following a temporary shutdown. The unit was successfully started and synchronized with the power grid at 06:47, in full compliance with operational standards and safety parameters.

According to KEK, the return of Unit A3 guarantees continuity of electricity production, system stability, and overall sustainability of Kosovo’s power supply.

“With the restart of A3, KEK is now operating five (5) active generation units: A3, A4, A5, B1, and B2, as long as operational parameters allow,” the statement said, emphasizing that this configuration ensures reliable and stable electricity production.

KEK highlighted that the achievement reflects the professional capability of its technical and management teams, who carried out necessary repairs and preventive maintenance within an optimal timeframe.

The corporation also expressed appreciation to its technical staff and employees for their rapid response, professionalism, and continued dedication, which ensure safe electricity generation and reliable system operation for citizens.
