The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) has announced that Unit B2 of the Kosovo B Thermal Power Plant was successfully brought back into operation on Sunday evening.
According to KEK’s statement, the unit was reactivated ahead of the scheduled deadline of October 4, 2025.
The corporation emphasized that this achievement will result in significant cost savings, while ensuring greater energy stability and security for the country.
“The major rehabilitation and modernization project of the turbine, carried out in cooperation with the prestigious company General Electric and KEK’s own experts, has led to a substantial increase in production capacity and improved system efficiency,” the statement reads.
This development is considered a key milestone in strengthening Kosovo’s energy infrastructure and reducing risks of power shortages.
