The Commander of NATO-led KFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani, received today H.E. Hiroyasu Tanigaki, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan 🇯🇵 in Kosovo, Rks News reports.
This first official meeting between the KFOR commander and the Japanese diplomat offered a valuable opportunity to exchange views on the current situation in Kosovo. H.E. Tanigaki emphasized KFOR’s essential role in maintaining peace and stability across the region.
General Barduani reaffirmed KFOR’s unwavering commitment to supporting the efforts of the International Community to ensure long-term peace and security in Kosovo, while also promoting regional stability.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999) to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, and to guarantee freedom of movement at all times and impartially. KFOR works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), each within their designated roles in the security response framework.
