KFOR, the NATO-led peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, has announced a rotation of reserve forces.
According to KFOR’s announcement, “Italian troops from KFOR’s reserves have completed their deployment to the NATO-led KFOR mission” and “will replace the reserves departing from Greece and Bulgaria.” “The unit consists of the 5th Infantry Regiment of the AOSTA Brigade, along with additional personnel from the Italian Carabinieri,” the statement from KFOR reads.
“The battalion will be stationed at Camp Villaggio Italia for several months. It will conduct a range of activities, including patrols, and will be used in response to any relevant developments in the security situation,” the statement continues.
As usual, KFOR reports that it continues to carry out its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
“KFOR remains well-prepared to handle any security scenario,” the statement concludes.
