KFOR Commander and Montenegrin Minister Discuss Security in Kosovo and Regional Stability

The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, met with Montenegro’s Minister of Defence, Dragan Krapović, and Chief of Defence, Brigadier General Miodrag Vuksanović, at the Ministry of Defence in Podgorica.

During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in Kosovo, KFOR’s role in maintaining peace and regional stability, and the ongoing cooperation between KFOR and Montenegro within the framework of international security missions.

Major General Ulutaş expressed his appreciation for Montenegro’s steadfast support for KFOR’s mission and for the professionalism of Montenegrin troops serving in Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999) to ensure a safe and secure environment for all citizens and communities in Kosovo, as well as to guarantee freedom of movement.

The mission works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX, within their respective security response roles.
