Major General Özkan Ulutaş, commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission in Kosovo, today hosted Major General Georgs Kerlins, Deputy Chief of Defense and Chief of the Joint Staff of the Latvian Armed Forces, at the KFOR headquarters in Film City Camp, Pristina.
According to a statement from KFOR, during the meeting, the two generals exchanged views on the current security situation in Kosovo and the wider region. Ulutaş praised Latvia’s contribution to KFOR and regional stability, expressing gratitude for the professionalism and dedication of the Latvian contingent.
KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolutions, to ensure a safe and stable environment for all communities in Kosovo, and to guarantee freedom of movement, in coordination with the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law Mission (EULEX).
