Major General Enrico Barduani, Commander of NATO’s KFOR mission in Kosovo, held an official meeting with the newly appointed Italian Ambassador to Kosovo, H.E. Maurizio Antonini, at KFOR Headquarters in Camp “Film City”, Prishtina.

During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on the current security situation across Kosovo, regional stability, and KFOR’s ongoing efforts in support of the EU-facilitated dialogue between Prishtina and Belgrade.

Commander Barduani emphasized the importance of a renewed and determined commitment to the dialogue process and reaffirmed KFOR’s impartial role in maintaining peace and stability in line with its mandate.

“I expressed pride in Italy’s longstanding contributions to KFOR,” said General Barduani, highlighting that Italy has maintained the largest national contingent in KFOR since 1999, reflecting the country’s enduring commitment to peace and security in Kosovo.

KFOR remains fully committed to UNSCR 1244 (1999), ensuring a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo, at all times and in an impartial manner.
